The Romanian branch of Gebruder Weiss announces that starting with the fourth quarter in 2009 will offer to its clients a land transport service ‘’just in time’’ for goods from 2 until 15 tones. The offer is addressed to customers who have general cargo or ADR, palletised, unpalletised or collies. The delivery is made in 48 hours after the take over, anywhere in Romania to lower logistics costs. In Quarter 4 - 2009, is offering promotional rates, with a 15% discount from list price.
The operation of this service will be made by the 6 hubs of Romania (Bucharest, Arad, Sibiu, Bacau, Cluj, Craiova) been supported by network operators throughout the field work points of Gebrüder Weiss (Bucharest, Arad, Sibiu , Bacau, Cluj, Craiova, Oradea, Iasi, Constanta).
GW Romania has over 180 employees and has invested in 2008 and 2009 over 15 million euro to develop the terminal in Bucharest. Estimated turnover for 2009 is 15 million euro.
Local growth develpment
In 1994, Cargolog was founded in Bucharest and in 2001 GW acquired 53% stocks of Cargolog Romania, changing the company name in ‘’CargologWeiss’’. Two years later, the company opened a new terminal in Bucharest and in 2005 changed its name again, becoming ‘’Gebrüder Weiss SRL’’. In 2006, opened a new terminal in Arad, and a new office in Constanta. In April 2009 GW Romania opened a new ter-minal at 23 km on the Bucharest – Pitesti highway, and by mid-2010 will be opened a modern terminal in the industrial area Selimbar in Sibiu.
